Volks.house is a construction company based in Fumba, Zanzibar that specializes in building sustainable, eco-friendly housing solutions for the African market. Our focus is on providing high-quality housing solutions with German technology and quality incorporated in every aspect of modern living.
Prefab or modular houses are a unique form of modern construction where the key elements/modules are manufactured in a factory line by well-trained craftsmen under high supervision at each stage of the process, from raw material processing to module assembly.
Each of the modules is designed and produced as per the client's building's design, and high-quality checks are conducted to ensure that no defects are produced. The complete modules are then transported to the desired area of construction for assembly. Unlike conventional houses, prefab houses are built at a faster rate, with minimal wastage of materials, and offer key flexibility in terms of construction cost and period.
Our Projects
Moyoni
The Moyoni homes are designed for multi-generational use. The timber structural framework allows to adept the homes to the needs and demands of the individual occupant. The bedroom layout is easily transformed from a loft setting to a two-bedroom layout and could even allow for a three- bedroom setting within the same framework. Ground-, upper and corner orientations diversify the apartment options even further.
Chei Chei
The CheiChei Living concept revolves around a simple but flexible building volume allowing for a wide variety of apartment layouts. The buildings are designed as sustainable four-story hybrid timber structures with concrete cores. The combination of construction techniques and timber systems allows for local prefabrication and an efficient assembly process.
Vizazi
The Vizazi houses are constructed with mass timber elements. The individual cross laminated and glue laminated timber elements are prefabricated to allow for the highest quality standards and finishes. This construction method allows fast and precise assembly on site. The exposed timber surfaces wihtin the interior of the building contribute to a high-quality living experience.
